Because it is much easier to teach a little baby (6 to 24 month-old) to read than it is to teach a 6-year-old! Also, there are few activities as joyous for parents and babies as reading ‘play’ sessions.
Reading is the basis of all learning and the acquisition of knowledge and success go hand-in-hand. By teaching your baby how to read, parents can open the door to learning to the world !!
“Every child has, at birth, a greater potential intelligence than Leonardo Da Vinci ever used” Glenn Doman, author of ‘Teach Your Baby To Read’.baby-can-read
We expose children to reading too late! By six or seven years of age the ability to take in spoken or written facts without effort is just about gone. In the same way that it is easier to teach a 5-year-old to read than it is to teach a 6-year-old, it is easier at 4 than at 5 ...
...and easiest of all for babies below one!!
Therefore, I personally recommend starting as early as at 6 months of age.
In this website we will learn how to start teaching your baby/infant the 'Baby can read' method and how to incorporate it into a fun 'playtime' activity that takes little time out of the day. I will also relate the story of how these activities extended into a lifetime of fun and learning for my family.
Welcome and enjoy!

Five Ways to Make Reading Fun for Your Kid
Author: Kerry TimmonsReading enhances a child's critical thinking, imagination, social consciousness, and vocabulary and pronunciation skills, among others. This is the primary reason parents are encouraged to develop the habit of reading to their children. In fact, it should start from birth. This reading activity between the mother and child will not only strengthen the bond between them, but will also encourage the child to create the habit of reading even at times when his mother is not available to read to him. However, there are times that a child finds reading boring. Considering the popularity of Internet to children, this is not surprising. The reading habit of children decreased because of the existence of online games, chatting, and social networking. But, as a parent, do not give up. This may become your toughest role, but this task will help your child prepare as he enters schooling. To help you become successful, make reading fun to your child. Here are five ways to do this:
1. Choose topics that are most interesting for your child
Some children like topics that speak of heroism and character. Some go for stories with children their age as main characters. It is best that you know what is of best interest to your child to make sure that you buy books that will surely capture his attention.
2. Do role playing
Ask your child to be the main character and you as the other. Let your child read the speaking parts of the main character. Create sound effects and actions, if the story permits it. This will surely stimulate your child's mind and awaken his senses.
3. Read using different voices of characters
Before reading the story, check first the number of characters involve to ready yourself on the number of voices you will actually use. By using different voices, your child will be very attentive as he listens to your reading.
4. Buy colorful and visually-rich books
Instead of the affordable black and white story books, consider buying colorful and visually-rich ones. Your child will have the tendency to look carefully into the book because of its many colors and visual presentations; thereby, allowing your child to become interested and to develop his imagination because of what he sees.
5. Offer him reward for every book he read and fully understood
Reward may come in the form of a toy or food. Yes, this may be bribery. But, this is your last resort if only to make your child start his reading. Remember, children are attracted to gifts and rewards. But, as days go by, you will realize, this activity will turn into a good habit from bribery.
As you do all these five ways with success, you can start introducing him to some other types of books other than story books. You can transform your reading from storytelling to knowledge building. With that, you are not only developing his habit of reading, but also providing him additional knowledge.
